What Happens After My Visa Expires In Canada?
Like in most countries it is illegal to remain in Canada after the expiration of your visa. Technically speaking if your visa expires like a month ago, you can still apply for reinstatement or extension from the proper authorities, as long as your visa expiry is still within the threshold of 90 days. You can not apply for an extension from Canada after 90 days of your visa expiration.
If your application for extension is declined, you will have to leave Canada and reapply for re-entry into Canada from your country of abode. Ensure you don’t forget when your documents expire, it is your responsibility.
Note: Depending on the circumstances, you might need to speak to an immigration expert if you are in such a situation.
Whatever you endeavor
We wish you luck!
