The Express Entry points, otherwise called Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Points, is a ranking system utilized by the express entry point program, which assigns ranks, and profiles in the express entry pool depending on the point granted to them.
The points that are assigned to candidates depends on a number of factors such as age, language capability, work experience, versatility/adaptability, educational capabilities/achievements and so forth.
Because the points are given to each candidate that apply and want to migrate to Canada, each candidate would want to get a higher score which means there will be competition, with the highest scoring candidate being selected to come to Canada, the candidates are ranked against each other.
Profiles with the most astounding/highest points will then be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR Visa.
Applicants are ranked against one another depending on their score, it’s critical to see how to ascertain what number of Express Entry points you have.
Factors that determine how the points are assigned.
There are basically four factors that cumulate your score and three out of those four give a total of 600 points. for example
- Main/human capital + B. Spouse/Companion or common-law partner + C. Transferability factors = Maximum 600 points.
The last factor, which is D. Additional/Extra points alone has a weight age of 600 points. Therefore, the aggregate of every one of the four components of the CRS calculator gives a total of 1200 points, which is;
Core/human capital + B. Life partner or common-law partner factors + C. Transferability factors + D. Extra points = 1,200 points.
Therefore, the points are distributed to the applicants from the 1,200 points total in the Canada CRS tool. Now we will just take a good look at the four factors a little deeper.
Core Human Capital Factors:
The Core Human Capital variables involve the main parts of the profile of a candidate, for example; Age, Educational Achievements, Official Language (English, and French) capability, and Canadian work experience.
Spouse/Common-law couples Factor:
Spouse/Common-law couples/partners factor consist of both educational qualifications, language abilities and work experience of your partner or spouse.
Transferable Skill Factors:
Skill Transfer capacity factors include Transferable factors and skills of an applicant in terms of Education, Training and work experience, for example
- With great/solid skill and proficiency to communicate and write in the official languages in Canada and a high school or secondary school degree (Canadian Language Benchmark [CLB] level 7 or more)
- With a great/solid Canadian working experience of more than a year and a high school degree from a recognized Canadian school.
- Foreign work experience of more than one year.
A candidate could equally gain additional or extra points up to 600, which can be based on the following factors.
- Siblings (both step and blood related) living in Canada (permanent residents or a citizen preferably)
- French language aptitudes
- High-school or secondary school education in Canada
- An organized or arranged work in Canada.
- PN selection
In light of the mentioned elements of Express Entry point system, the scores of the applicants are calculated in the express entry pool in line with the Comprehensive Ranking System of assessing the enrolled candidate in the pool.
The IRCC opens up a draw every two weeks to choose the top ranking applicants and consequently issue them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a permanent residency in Canada, when the candidate receives an ITA, the candidate will then have to complete and submit the permanent residency application as well as the necessary documents within one month of receiving the ITA.
